Behaviour Based Interviewing

Behaviour based interviewing has become increasingly common in various parts of the world. Essentially, it assumes that if you have displayed certain qualities/ behaviour in the past, you will be able to do that in the future as well. So during a behaviour based interview, employers try to understand if you have previously displayed the qualities/behaviour that is required for high performance on the job in question. They do so by asking for real life examples/situations from your past, such as "Can you tell me of a time when you exhibited leadership skills."

What To Do With A Stalled Job Interview Process

A recuiter called a medical sales candidate about a job, gave him the name of the company and the manager, said that he had submitted his resume for consideration, and had the phone interview set up. Then, the recruiter called back to tell him that the phone interview wasn’t going to happen, that the interview was on hold, and that he’d be in touch. After more than a week with no phone call, the candidate called me for help.

While there is always a little bit of anxiety that comes along with a new career, being prepared and choosing the occupation that complements your skills will ensure you end up doing something you excel at but also something you enjoy.

How to Plan a Job Hunt

· Ask to meet for 30 minutes to get their feedback and suggestions on your resume as well as your job search strategy
· Confirm the date, time and location of the appointment
· Meet with contact, taking notes on the conversation and collecting one or two referrals to other contacts you might meet with
